Ninja Commissioner

Hey everybody!

Today I come with a special post, dedicated to naive artists (as me).
Recently, I had a couple of disappointing facts: two ninja-commissioners attacked me. If you don't know what a ninja-commissioner is, let me explain. Is that type of commissioner who throws a smoke bomb and disappears once an artist sends him / her a sketch, (or in other words, a scammer xD ).

I wanted to write about this and showing the unpaid sketches. This way, if these guys try to convince any other artist to color the pieces, the artist will be able to know they're scammers. I trust on commissioners and I know scammers are just a little part, so don't worry, I'm not going to stop accepting commissions. I just wanted to say I felt very sad because one of the ninja-commissioner has a profile on HF and I saw he posted new commissioned pieces that are pretty similar to my sketch. I guess he sent the same idea to other artists, I only hope they weren't scammed too.

Also, I must say this experience helped me fixing better my working system and I changed it a little, including some new rules in order to protect myself from these type of scoundrels, so thanks!! Bad experiences always help me improving more and more. I think having strict and clear rules is the best an artist can do against ninja-scammers, so you can see my commissioning system here, I guess it isn't perfect, but it can help you to fix your own rules:

Is important your commissioners respect your rules, but we, the artists have to follow our own rules too, because sometimes a commissioner comes and say he will pay later and we (the naive ones) accept doing the work and we say "it's just this time, it's an exception" and that's where the scammer gets his opportunity. So don't let they steal your time and effort.
